Back abowt a monf ago I did get two awards in da one same week. I did near fall ofur wif suprise abowt getting one award, nefur mind two. I did writes abowt da first award already and now dat I hafs recovered from da surprise I is ready to write abowt my second award.

1) If you could change one thing, what would you change?

I fink I wud change dat my Angel sisfur Neve did not get da bad cancer monster to visit her and den her haf to go to da Rainbow Bridge.  Sume days da hoomans & I does fery miss her.

 

2) If you could repeat an age, what would it be? any year?

I doesn’t be qwite sure how to answer dis qwestion. Fur I do wish dat my Angel Neve was still here, and I does also luv my Izzy & haf grate games wif her. I finks dis year what is coming up will be a good one because my mum is going to be home wif us much more. And maybe we will get to go to da farm fur a vackashion to Auntie Maree’s house. So I does be a dog woooo looks to da future and finks dat each year might be da best one.

 

3) What is one thing that really scares you?

I does be qwite a brave & tuff dog so der does be no fings what scare me. I does absolutely not woof my head off when der be funders & storms because I is scared ob dem. If anyone does tell wooo dat I does it because I is afraid, dat does be completely wrong. I does it because I does be protecting my hoomans. And once I haf woofed so much dat da funders goo away I is qwite happy again . So der is no fings I is scared ob, no sireee, nuffing at all.

 

4) What is one dream you have not completed, and do you think you’ll be able to complete it?

I wud haf a dream ob seeing sume ob my pals from day interwebs. But I finks dis will nefur happen bekcause Nooo Zealand does be far far aways from dem all. But maybe one day my hoomans maybe gets to visit sume ob dem fur me. Dat is what I can wish fur.

 

5) If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be?

Well, I finked and finked abowt dis one, and I finks I does just like to be me fur efuryday. If I does be anofur doggie fur a day, woooo wud haf morning snuggles on da bed wif my mum? Wooo wud play bitie face games wif my Izzy? Wooo wud carry da nooospaper fur my dad and play bed monsters wif him?? I fink my hooomans wud miss me if I did go aways to be anofur paw fur a day. So I just stays right here & bes me.

Dis be da blog of two most handsume & distinguished gentledawwgs wooo be called Sam & Monty. Dey does be Golden Retrievers and dey lives wif der luvly hoomans  and der horse fur sibs ofur in da USA in Arizona where it does get fery hot. Ob course, da horses does not live in da house – only Sam & Monty & der hoomans. 😉  Dese boyz does do alot of werk to support da rescue dat dey came from, so woo cud meybe check dat owt too. I haf sume qwite noo pals. I did meet dem just a bit before dey moved to a fery fery COLD place called Alaska. Which does also be part ob da USA efen though it be qwite far away from da rest ob da USobA. Dis does be confusing fur a dawwg like me. Anyhows, dey haf a blog what der hooman write abowt dem, and does sume book reviews abowt dog books. And shows picktures ob dem in da snows. Der is four ob dem and der names be Tori, Mesa, Baily & BC – which does be short for Big Carl. (Da picture does be Bailey bekcause it did just be her birfday. )

And da last but not least does be two cuzins. Dey be called Norwood & Tula. Der mommies does be sisters & dey lives near each ofur. Norwood does be one ob da doggies what I haf known da longest on da interwebs. He does look half like me and half like Izzy bekcause he does be a blueheeler/terrier cross. He does be a grate dog fur da owtdoors and he does be completely nuttyballs. Dese pals does not write in der bloggies so often, but dey be well worf a look bekcause dey does haf grate picktures & be so funny.

Walkies Challenge Update

Hello der my pals.

Well sume ob woo will know dat da mum & I started off dis year with doing a walkies challenge to walk 30 minutes fur 30 days ob January.

We haf sume good noos & sume not so good noos to repawt about dat challenge. It haf been a fery good learning fur us bof.

First ob all we hafs to say dat we did not do efury single day ob da Challenge. So, sume paws might fink dat we failed. But we pawfurs to look at da good fings what we haf achieved and da fings what we haf learned dat will help us to be better at walkies & being healfy in da futures.  So fur us we is counting it as a success.

Dis is sume writings abowt owr experiences and owr learnings.

Da Good fings

1. Da first fing what we was sooper doper happy abowt was dat da hudad & my Izzy did decide dat they wud come wif us most efury time. Dat was fery good because we doesn’t always get to do fings as a family wif da four ob us. Well, I guess strickly if it was da WHOLE family dat stinky cat wud come too. But he haf no interest in walkies.  So we goes wif da four ob us 😉  
2.  We was sooper pleased abowt going walkies in owr forest again. We is fery lucky to haf sume ob owr luvly Noo Zealand bush (forest) right by us. But we haf not been able to do walkies der bekcause ob da bad poisons fur da mean ole possums.  But now we did get a few walkies in der which was fery nice. We haf remembered how luvly it does be in owr bush & how we all feels better when we does haf some time owt der. It does be good fur owr mentals whefur we haf two leggies or four leggies.
3.  We haf gone from walkies once in a while on random days, to walkies on a more regular basis. So dat be an excellent fing. We haf found dat we is not good at doing da same walkies fur da same time each day. Which does not really be suprizing bekcause my hoomans is not known fur hafing a regular life wif fings da same each day & each week.  But we is ok wif doing short walkies sume days & long walkies sume days & no walkies when it just not be right wif da weafur. We haf realised dat is da fing fur us and we shud not be ofur bofured abowt ‘routine.
4. We haf been ob encouragement to a pal on da Twitter. @clingycat’s mum haf been getting in to doing walkies too. She haf some ob da same fings like us wif weafur trubles & missing da odd day here & der.  But we haf all decided not to beat owrselves up if we does miss sume days. Da most impawtant fing is dat we is ALL doing much much better wif owr walkies than efur before.
   

   Dis be Jazz & Captain Worm-Sparrow woo are da Clingycat house hold felines.

5. We haf learnt da I is good fur walkies off da leash – when der is no hoomans arownd. In fact I walks much nicer off da walking string and I is good at coming back. In fact wreally I doesn’t like to get too far aways from da hoomans anyways. And da hudad is getting much better at trusting me to stay near him & to not go running off, so we haf bof benefitted from regular walkies.

 

 

Da Not-So-Good fings

1) At da moment der be anofur little problem wif owr bush. It does be called hook grass. Dat be like a kind ob grass wif nasty sharp little seeds what hooks demselves onto furs and such like. Sume ob wooo do haf burrs & stickers and fings like dat. We does haf hook grass. Usually dey be a bit innoying, but da hoomans does get them all off us pritty well. However, dis year, da Council workermans haf slashed dem all down just when dey all dry & prickly. Dey be laying all ofur da path & we does be getting dem stuck right on owr feets. We bof doesn’t like it one bit. We hops along & tries do shake dem off & nom dem off but it not werk. Da hoomans not want us to get one sticked right in owr paws, so we leave da bush fur a bit until dey all gone aways.

2) We haf discovered dat right now when it does be so hot here dat we is better wif walkies maybe efury ofur day.  We gets qwite completely exhaustipated wif a 30 minute walkies & some zoomies. And da mum just does not like da heats, not one bit. It not really cool down until it well dark which does be qwite qwite late.  I did haf a trouble one night where I did get ofur heated altogefur. I did frow up when we got home & I wasn’t maiself at all.  I did not efen want to haf a drink. So da hoomans qwick smart putted me in a cool baf & splashed me down wif waters and keeped me der fur a bit until I stopped wif da crazeee panting and looked like I was more comfortable& haf some little drinks ob water.  So now I is not allowed to do zoomies if it does be warm. Which does be booooooring.  But den, I guess I is an old fella now & maybe I can’t do da fings what I did when I was a young fella. Or maybe it does just be one ob da most hottest summer what we haf had for 10 years.

3) Dat Izzy & me does bof be TERRIBUL at walking nice on da leash. We does be bof wanting to be in front & all kinds ob bad manners. So der be sume werk fur da hoomans & us to do der, but we all knows were we is all now. So dat does be kind ob useful.

So ofur all, we is fery happy wif owr walkies Challenge experience & we is carrying on wif anofur walkies challenge now. It does be da Idita-Walk – if woo clicks woo can find owt more. We haf started counting da minutes already, be we needs to register. @Clinycat’s mumma is doing it too & ob course owr geocaching pal Gizmo! So it not too late to join us yet. Efen if woo not want to register on da website, woo can count your walkies minutes fur February & March and see if woo get to 1049 minutes. Or just try to beat us wif da minutes woo get!! BOL

Alien Invasion

Sume terribul fings have been happening around here.

A cuple ob weeks ago my dog pen was invaded by da aliens. I did not know what dey was at first, but I did consult da interwebs and discover dey is aliens. I has a Checklist Fur Aliens and dey does meet da criteria.

1) Dey came owt ob da grownd.  

Tick! Dey most trooly did.

Here I is checking da grownd fur suspicious alien diggings.

Here does be sume ob der holes. In case woo not believe me.  ‘Parently dey been down der many many years. Just waiting. Fery suspicious.

2) Dey splits open der skin and changes into anofur shape.  

Tick! Dey fur sure does dis one. Dat what alerted us to dem. We did find lots & lots & lots ob da left over skins on fings in my pen.

Dis be an example.

3) Dey be abowt da ugliest fing what efur woo did see.  

Tick! Seeing as it was dark time when dey came owt (which does be anofur suspicious behaviours) we doesn’t haf da photo ob owr own. But we did recognise dem on da internets.

Owr aliens was just like dis one.

So, I finks woo will all agrees wif my evidences dat we haf been struck by an alien invasion.

Da mum swears dey is sume kind ob fing called cicadas.
But I doesn’t fink her haf consulted my Checklist.

In ofur nooos, we haf had a different kind ob invasion too. Der be no disagreements abowt dis one however. It does be a FLEA. I is horrified. Dat Izzy done taxi services fur a flea and bringed it to OWR house. Sheesh. Woo may fink her is sweet & innocent. But we knows different now.

Der was just da one. Well da one what we saw anyways. But da mum went a little crazeeeeee. In my opawnion.

She still muttering sumefing abowt ‘How come, when we only have two dogs, I had to wash & clean five dog beds, two comfy chairs & eleventy million blankies?’  Well, I doesn’t be dat sure she exactly said eleventy million, but was sume real big number more den I haf paws to count up anyways.
All I knows is I haf to haf yuck smelly treatment on my furs and sleeps on da cold hard kitchen floor fur most a whole day while owr stuffs dried in da sunshines.  So I sure hope dat nefur happens again. *Glares at Izzy*

Secret Santapaws

Dis does be anofur Christmas story abowt a fery nice fing what happened dis year.
Owr luvly Twitter friend Jessie da cat @JessieJaney and sume ob her pals did make an idea abowt hafing a Secret Santa swap wif ofur pals. Dis was fur ANZAC anipals – dat is paws what live in Australia & Noo Zealand. Der was dawgs & kittins & Billy who does be a guinea pig!

Jessie did collect a littl’ infurmashions abowt all da pals wooo wanted to participate – like how many paws lived at each house & what kind ob anipal dey all were. And ob course, owr most secret addresses fur mailing ob parcels. Den her did do a random draw ob which pal was going to send to which. We is sworn to nefur tell woooo owr sekrit pal was. Ob course der did be sume discovering ob such top sekrit infurmashions, but I ain’t going to tell any on my bloggie. 😉

We did send da hoomans on many expidishions to da pet stores in da city to find most exactly da fings we wanted to send to owr sekrit pal. Da hoomans did haf success in da end, and along da way dey did buy ofur noms & toys & such likes just in case dey cudn’t find da exact ones we requested. So dat was most advantageous bekcause den we did haf sume extra noms & toys what needed homes.  I finks my tummy will be a fine home fur sume ob dem extra nommy noms.  I is pritty sure der will be room in der.

We sended owr parcel off in good time & we breafed a big sigh when we knowed it got der safe.  Den we crossed owr paws & waited fur owr parcel to come from anofur different pal. Dat parcel did cause a few wurries. I fink maybe Jessie chewed her claws down a little, but in da end it arrived to us before da Big Day.

Da Big Day fur opening owr Secret Santa pressies was da 23^rd December. So dis year it was kinda like we had Christmas twice! Here woo can see we is opening da parcels wif a bit ob helps from da Mum.  Dat sticky stuffs on parcels does be not so easy fur dogs.

And I sure woo can see me getting my snooter straight in to dat bag ob chewy fings.

We also got owr fery own uooonique Christmas cards – ones dat woo can NOM!! We was pritty happy abowt dat & we hafs to try dem owt right away.  Izzy near nommed hers all up because her secretly took it away to da big bed & da hoomans didn’t see her!!

Efen dat stinky cat got sume fings in da parcel. He got treat noms. And sume nip. We haf nefur gifen him nip before so he was pritty excited abowt dat. We may haf to buy him one ob Penne da Parrot’s special fishies what his warden makes so we can put dat nip in it. (Seeing as I stoled his first fishie what warden made him.  )

I is glad to say da hoomans did torture dat cat wif da antlers too. He no more happy abowt da idea than us. Meybe he does haf sume sense afta all.

If da mum gets sume werk dis year & we hafs sume spare dollars we sure join in da Secret Santa next year. Dat if Jessie recovers from dis year!!

And der does not be dat many doggies what blog in Noo Zealand (dat we haf found) so we is glad to find dem. And if der is any luvly girl doggies out der wanting to go to a Valentine’s Ball, well da most handsume Jasper is looking fur a gawgeous lady to accompany him. 😉

Dis award be in honour & respect ob owr dear pal Marley who haf gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Marley was a doggie woo was one ob a kind.  Despite da fact dat him was often not well wif a heart condition he was always da most  cheerfulest ob pals and did still haf sume luvly adventures. Him haf 100s of pals especially ob da #BTPosse (dat is da Border Terriers) but him always haf a kind werd and a happy greeting fur all on Twitter.  His bloggie was fur him & his sisfur Lola and he haf left it in da care ob his littl’e son Clapton. And last but not da least is my old pal Mooses. I haf known Moose da longest ob any ob dese pals and once in a while I takes da time to read back on his bloggie abowt da times afore I knowed him. He haf kept a good record ob all his adventures and da foster pals what him & his momma look after for Labrador Rescue. Well. I know it do be qwite a few weeks afta Santapaws time. But I does finally be getting to my Christmas repawting. Dis be mostly sume picktures ob us wif a few captions fur explaining fings. I hopes woo likes it.

Dis owr Santa pictures that my Twitter pal Jeff the Turtle made for us to get Christmas started.

Izzy & I had to help da hoomans wif da Christmas Tree. I fought da littl’ white bear was so cute I took him away fur some personal attenshions. Well, I wouldda. If dat meanie mum hadn’t stole him off me. I was just gonna cuddle wif him. Dat is all.

We wasn’t so good wif helping wif da lights. Just as well we had da dad to help wif dat.

Efen if I do have to say so myselfs, we done a pritty god job. But I is sure da hoomans cudn’t haf done da dekarashions so nice all by demselves.

We don’t haf dem pritty lights & fings owtside like a few places around town. Owrs just be inside.  So da hoomans went on a little tour to look at all da fings what ofur peoples did put owtside der houses.

We got lots & lots ob luvly cards from owr pals all arownd da werld. Dis one I is posing wif is from owr grate littl’ pal Bean. Her is a tiny wee poodle dog what works at a vet wif her mom & auntie. We made sure to read dem all fery well. We has fery special pals woooo luvs us a lot. We did not qwite get more cards den da hoomans. But I fink we will do better next year.

Unfortunately dem card haf gifen da mum a terribul idea. Her wishes to make a Christmas card ob US!!!! Howefur, I does not wish to be tortured wif da wearing ob antlers & da such. So I hope her haf forgotten dis crazzeeeee idea by next Christmas.

And I hafs to say, my Izzy is a wise doggie abowt sume fings. Her is efen LESS enfusiastic abowt da idea den me.

A fing which I is enfusiastic  abowt howefur is Christmas noms. I did haf to wait a darn long time fur dem tho. Dese veggies  & gravies are from Grammie’s house. Dey were DELISH!!! usually we goes to Grammie’s house but owr hoomans fought derwas going to be too many ofur hoomans der & sume what didn’t know us. And we is rafur ‘enfusiastik’ sumetimes.

On da 26^th December – dat is called Boxing Day here in Noo Zealand – we hafed a BBQ and owr pals came ofur fur noms. Dese be Tylar, Milo & Buddy. We did sume zoomies & sume nomming. I nommed Milo. I doesn’t know why I bofured. Her not taste dat good & my hoomans was sooper grumpy wif me. 😦  I shud haf stuck to nomming da BBQ noms I fink.

Anofur fery nice fing did happen dis Christmas. We did get present sended to us from all ofur da werld. We is fery fery lucky pups indeed. Opening parcels does be grate fun. I is pritty good at it. Just sometimes if der is sellotapes & sticky stuffs like dat mum haf to help me a tiny bit. But den I gets my snooter right in der.

Dis parcel was da most soooper nomilicious littl’ treats made owt ob peanut butters. Dey was winners! Dem treats came from owr pals Molly & Loki & der mom at Red Collar Photography. Her uses dem fur getting da doggies to pose fur der picktures. I hafs to say, dat might efen make my Izzy pose nice fur a pickture. 😉

Dese ones is fery delish too. Dey was most especially made fur us by owr furiend Punkie & his momma. Punkie’s mom was most clever & writed da recipe too so we can make sume more ob owr own. I hafs to get da hoomans on to da cookie baking ASAP bekcause we has almost chomped all Punkie’s ones right up. We was most pleased we actually got dese ones fur I finks dat Customs doggie might haf darn near nommed dem too.

So dat be sume fings abowt our Christmas. But not all da fings. I has anofur post or two to write.

Today I is doing da Pet Blogger Challenge at  Go Pet Friendly. I fought it was anofur good beginning ob da year fing to be doing. Today does be da 10th alreadys here in Noo Zealand, but I guess most ofur paws & der hoomans won’t be doing dis one until tomorrow in der part ob da werld.

Dis challenge be fur getting to know abowt ofur pet bloggers & talking abowt owr blogs. So I finks dat be qwite intresting & I might meet sume noo pals too.

Der are special qwestions what we all has to answer, so dis is my answers.

1. When did you begin your blog?

Well, I did start my blog on May 14 2011, so not dat long ago.

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?

I did start my blog afta my Angel sister Neve went to da Rainbow Bridge. I needed sumefing to do and to make sume noo pals.

My Angel Neve what was my troo sisfur frm da day we was borned from owr dogmom.

 

 

3. Is your current purpose the same?

Not so much

If not, what’s different?

I doesn’t so much need sumefing to do now, because I is so busy wif my Twitters & Facebarks dat I hasn’t got so much spare time. Plus I haf a nooo sisfur so I has sumebuddy to play wif now.  But I still likes to get to know noo pals. I writes more fur entertainments now & fur remembering fings what I does wif my hoomans & my sisfur & owr friends.

If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?

I sure has met lots ob nooo pals & I did join Dogs wif Blogs on FaceBark. So I guess dat was meeting my goal

4. How often do you post?

I posts whenefur I can get my secretary to take dicktashions. Which last year was only eight times. I is hoping her will do a fery lot better dis year.

5. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you? If you don’t publish on a schedule, why? 

Well, da secretary haf a most irregular job, as well as unpredictable volunteer activities, so pretty much nuffing happens to a schedule at owr house, not efen nomstime. So my bloggie writing does be totally no different. I did try to haf sume schedules, but it nefur did werk owt. Maybe I needs to do sume Clicker training wif da secretary to improve her behaviours or sumefing??

How do you think your decision affects your audience? How do you know when a topic is “post-worthy?”

I not really fought abowt how dat affecks my audience. Dem doggies what find my blog amoosing seems to come & read it anyhow. A lot ob dem gets email notices or have me on der readers & stuffs like dat. I fink da way I does it is better because if I did haf a schedule and nefer did stick to it dey might get innoyed. Dis way, whenefur I does write sumefing, it does just be a nice surprise fur dem.

Fings what is worf writing abowt is any fings I wants to remember abowt or dat was funny or intresting fur me & da secretary. I likes to put sume Noo Zealand picktures on my bloggie  if I can include dem bekcasue my ofurseas pals does fink my Noo Zealand is luvly.  I likes writing abowt my own life bekcause dat be uooonique. I cud do da reviews and da behaviour hints and da best places to stay wif doggies and all dat stuffs I guess. However, I finks ofur doggies covers dat pretty well, so I just writes about me. I does be da only Ruger Blue what is owt der. Dat I knows ob anyways.

6. How much time do you spend writing your blog per week? How much time visiting other blogs? Share your tips for staying on top of it all.

I doesn’t stay on top ob it. But I has high hopes fur da secretary dis year dat der will at least be sume improvements. Meybe her might haf a bit less activities to be involved wif & der be none ob da ofur issues what haf needed her attenshions like da last couple of years.

I did try da google reader fingie fur keeping up wif ofur blogs fur a few weeks. I did not fink much ob it because I likes to read da acktual blog, plus I doesn’t fink reading blogs does be supposed to feel like a competishion to keep da counter at zero.  Now I has qwite a long blog roll which I goes fro once in a while and da secretary keeps sume partickular ob my pals on a Pinterest board fur me & we checks dem ones more regular like maybe once or twice a week. Sume ob my good pals puts on Facebark or Twitter when dey has done a nooo post so we knows to check dem owt dat way too. Dat is what werks fur me.

7. How do you measure the success of a post and of your blog in general (comments, shares, traffic)? Do you look strictly at the numbers, or do you have a way of assessing the quality of those interactions?

I partly writes my bloggy fur my own entertainments and to remember da fings what I did wif my hoomans, so I not too much wurried abowt number fings. Dem pals what finds my bloggie intresting or entertaining comes & reads it whenefur I writes sumefing. If der only a handful what appreciates my style, I be ok wif dat. I does look at da littl’ graphs and fings dat WordPress provides  because it does be kind ob fun when suddenly dey goes way up fur one day. On da whole tho, I doesn’t be dat much influenced by dem. I writes what I enjoys, not to get da numbers.

8. If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one issue you’re having with your blog, what would it be?

I fink I needs a training programme fur my secretary so dat she gifs my blog more time. Does Clicker training sownd like a good idea or shud I take her to obedience skhool?? What does da best kind ob treats be to get a better pawformance from a secretary?? I wud consider all da recommendations I can gets abowt dis issue, but recommendations abowt treats dat is also good fur doggies shud dey ‘acksidentally’ get dropped or be left sume place is best. I did once nom almost a whole block ob chocolate and dat was not a experience I wishes to repeat.
Or ofurwise, if any pals haf found a way to make der be more hours in da day or days in da week, dat wud be most helpful to learn abowt too.

9. What goals do you have for your blog in 2013?

I haf a grate hope dat I will get more den eight posts written. If I gets an average ob two a munf dat wud be good. But dat main fing is dat I hafs fun writing and dat my pals maybe gets a few laffs from what I writes. I hopes dey enjoys looking at my picktures ob handsume me & my Izzy and learning abowt Noo Zealand too.

A Noo Year Walkies Challenge

Well hey der my pals. Welcome to 2013.

I hope woo haf all had a fun and safe holiday season wif lots ob noms involved.  The noms at my house were a bit scanty fur my liking, but I was saved by kind pals wooo send me sume presents. But more abowt dat in anofur post.

Today I wants to talk abowt my New Years Challenge. Da mum & I cud bof do wif getting a bit fitter. So her has started on a healfy eating plan and we haf bof started on da 30/30 walkies challenge.

We found owt abowt this fanks to our Twitter pals Garth and Gizmo.  Chester and Gretel da weenie dogs at YouDidWhatWithYourWeiner came up wif da idea & we fink its a good one.

We started it on da 3^rd of January here in Noo Zealand.  We is not fishes. Which is what we wud haf to be to start on da first day of da year because owr region was busy hafing torrential rains and funders & lightnings  and flooding.  We not dat crazy abowt getting healfy to go owt when it not really safe. 😉

Da 2^nd ob February will be owr finishing day. We is gonna miss one day because ob a wedding. And der sume days of vackashion dat I’m gonna haf to trust da mum do do her walkies by herself because i will be at dawg prison camp. L  I fink her can do it.

Hopefully afta dat we be in such da habit ob it dat we just carries on. Well, dat be da idea anyways. And da Iditarod walkies challenge be coming up too. We nefur had much lucks wif dat one before because efurytime we tried it sume bad fings happened & we had to stop. Meybe dis is da year! Paws crossed.

Anyways da ofur impawtant noooos is dat it is safe fur me & da Izzy to go walkies in owr forest again. In Noo Zealand we doesns’t really say forest – well unless we just talking abowt pine tree forests fur timber. Owr native forests does be known as ‘bush.’ Dat is what owr Australia pals say too.

Der did be poisonous stuffs in it fur da killing ob pesky possums. But  da stuffs wud deaded us doggies too. Efen qwicker than a possum. 😦 So we didn’t want to go der. But da poison sign is all gone now.

Izzy Goes to the Spa

Or, the Spa comes to Izzy!! 😉

Well, sume pals haf been asking fur more picktures of Izzy.  I dunno why, because I am obviously superior in looks and brains.

But nefer-the-less, I want to make my pals happy, so here is a blog abowt Izzy.

As you mostly know, our Izzy is a bitzer dog. Mostly terrier, but maybe something else too.  Woo knows what, but her did turn owt cute I guess.

Howefur, she can get pritty scruffy looking too wif that furs. The mum foofs her furs, and five minutes later it is back to scruffy looking again.  Her gets her paws washed ALL THE TIME because her gets so much mud stuck to them.

The  mum has got Izzy groomed a couple ob times to try and help wif  the scruffys and dat lasts a BIT better. We haf tried owt two different groomers. They bof came to our house  wif a mobile spa.

Here is sume picktures from Izzy Spa Day #1  This lady was kind ob OK in some ways.  She was friendly and explained what she was doing all along. She was happy to let mum watch.  Her set-up was good & well organised. And her didn’t let Izzy escape!! But not so good in others. She had her own dawgs wif her which mum wasn’t too happy abowt because it cud have been distracting from focusing on owr Izzy. Her didn’t follow mum’s instructions too well, so poor Izzy got trimmed a bit shorter than was really needed – which da dad wasn’t so happy wif how Izzy looked. And her didn’t do a grate job with paws or ears – they got no special attentions.  And her water was too hot!  Mum fought her was about to cook poor Izzy at one point!!

Dis is Spa Day #2. The second lady was really friendly & chatty too.  Her was just in a little trailer so wasn’t so well set up, but is getting her van soon. She was OK with letting mum watch though her wasn’t sure how Izzy was going to behave wif Mum there.  She used the Furminator on Izzy which did a grate job & trimed off just the right amount of furs.  She knew alot about her shampoos and had put a lot of thought in to which products she used. This lady did a grate job of trimming owt Izzy’s paw furs, pucked her ears, and even offered to trim her butt fluffs which meant Izzy had a good tidy up all around.  She did haf water trubles too, and trubles wif Izzy escaping!!!!  But ofur all da mum finks her will get the second lady again, especially once her gets her full set-up in a van. And now that her knows owr Izzy is a Houdini!!!

Time for Tricky Trick Learning #2

I did some new fings this week. I did some great games with carrots. I like carrots, maybe even more than kibbles. Acktually, much more than kibbles. A carrot is nice & crunchy & juicy and kibbles is all kind of dry & boring.

So when my mum tied a string to my carrot slice instead ob gifing to to me to crunch I thought she was qwite crazy indeed!!!

‘Why are you doing that to my carrot Mum?’

But I am so clever that getting my carrot back was no truble. Carrot goes under couch.  Waaaayyy under. String  sticks owt. Dawg pulls on string wif mouth & gets carrot owt. But hey. No one told me that rules, so I just use my clever paws & scrap the sting owt until, voila, here is my carrot. Nom nom nom. Crunch crunch crunch.

Ok, what’s next mum?

Noms under cups. I’m pretty smart abowt this game too. Mum hides the bit ob carrot under a upside down paper kaffee cup. I knocks da cup over wif my paw, and chomp, nom is all gone.  Now – da trick is, maybe there is two or three cups. Which one has the nom under?  Sniff, sniff, sniff.  Ah, dat one! Whack. Chomp. Nom all gone.

Well, those are the fun ones. Da mum has also started to teach me to go backwards. Why, I just don’t know. Why would I want to go AWAY from her who has the noms??
Anyway, being as I am pretty clever I started figuring it owt right away. But only once I tried every other trick I know to get her to hand over that nom. I mean, she doesn’t reaaaaallly want me to go BACK does she. Yep, it appears that is want is required.
