Mumma says that sometimes karma comes back & bites you on the butt. I’m not ex-a –ca-lly sure what she means, but she said it has somefing to do with the fery extremely bad ‘chomping incident’ from a coupla weeks ago.
Anyhows I almost got chomped today by two crazy off-leash doggies on my walkies with Mumma. Mumma says lucky fing that they weren’t vicious crazy, just ”I-am-a-nutty-collie-dog craaaaazzzy”, otherwise I would really truely have teefie marks on me and Mumma might too. And anyways – they didn’t bit me on the butt, they tried to get my neck & my leggies. And I don’t fink their names was Karma, so I totally don’t know what she means. Hu-mans can say some fery strange fings sometimes.
SO, other than the crazy doggies and the fery evil two-wheels that comed speeding past I had a fery cold (it might actually be winter now!) and quite boring walkies. After all those fings the hu-mum would not let me off my lead at anytime whatsoever, so I did not get to see much interesting stuffs, and every time I was reading a good peemail Mumma made me hurry up. Of course, when HU-MUM wanted to stop for photos, well, that was just fine.
"No Mumma, DON'T put the pickture of me with my eyes shut on the interwebs."
This is the cycle track me & the hu-mans go walkies on. It will look nicer when fings grow more.
"I am a pawsomely handsome dog, aren't I?"
If you look by my ears, and above the sea there are mountains wif snows on them.
There is some kind of old wrecked fing down by the beach, Mumma doesn't know what it used to be.
Mumma is in two minds about whether the new cycle track is a good place for us to go walkies. She says I will for sure never ever get to go walkies off-leash along it. The sign at the start does not efen MENTION doggies. Mumma says that is typical for our town. Efen though the hu-mum & hu-dad hafe to pay lots of green papers every year to register me, there is not much good fings for doggies to do in our town. Mumma says that efen if the sign sayed ‘No Doggies Allowed’ that would show that our council people remembered that there were doggies & their hu-mans in our town. But nope, it’s just like the other trails in our town. NO signs about OK for doggies or not OK for doggies, or stay on leash, or scoop the poops or anyfing. Plus our fings to play on at the dog pen are all broken & hafe nails sticking out. And one of our dog pens got the fence taken away altogether, so now doggies can’t play there. Mumma gets to wondering if the only fing her green papers get spent on is putting the fery bad doggies in doggie prison, and paying the green papers for the man who catches them. He is actually a fery nice man who cares about doggies. I have met him myself a few times, and he always talks nice and helpful to my Mumma when she had to telephone him, so he deserves his green papers. But Mumma does wish there was some better fings for doggies in our town.
"Can I go walkies here or not Mumma?"

We have rainy season again today. And it was cold. Not really fery cold, but cold enough. Mumma needed me and the stinky cat to keep her toasty. And that stupid laptop thing. I don’t fink she really needs that laptop thing. I am much more interesting to look at. And much more useful for keeping her cozy. But she said she had Red Cross works to do. And that stinky cat & me needed the firey warm thing to keep us warm. Mumma remembered to keep it going today. Some days she gets so busy doing stuffs on her laptop that she forgets to feed the warm thing.
But I’m still cold.

Hu-Mumma & I had our paws crossed today that hu-Dad would not get paged for his work because we wanted to go for a big walkies with him. And we got lucky because he got a whole day so far with no calls. So we went for a long walk this afternoon – in that strange bright shiny stuff. Even though it is supposed to be that cold winter season, the hu-mans did not need to put on any extra furs at all. It was fery warm. We were going to go on the new bicycle track, but when we got to the end of it, we found that it wasn’t the end anymore. There was a new new bit on the track!!! It looked a bit rough, but we are used to that, and we fought not too many hu-mans would go on that bit yet, so off we went.
We had a good fun walk. We had a little stop for a Frisbee game on the beach. We took my old red Frisbee because I don’t want my Mumma to maybe lose my special Frisbee. She is not fery good at looking after Frisbees. And I did not let her frow it, because she is pretty bad at that too!! But I still luv her.
Sometimes we could not go along the track and we went scrunching over the rocks & driftwoods. I am going to fire my photo-taking assistant because she did not take any photos of me & my hu-Dad in the driftwoods. She said that she needed her arms for balancing instead of taking photos, but I did not fink that was a fery good excuse at all. She was going fery slow though. I had to keep going back to make sure that she was OK. It is fery hard keeping an eye on all your hu-mans when they don’t stay together. Do you other doggies have that problem on walkies?
We came back along a back road part way. I saw some sheeps and played in the puddles. The puddles were good for stomping in and they tasted OK too – but not as good as home water! I always have to go straight to my own water bowl when I get home every time after I am out.
My Mumma took some more pictures of me along the way. Hu-Dad & I fink she is fery craaaaazzzy about taking photos. But…. I am a fery handsome doggie after all.

My hu-Mum has been trying to teach some of the little hu-mans that she works with about Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. She was fery surprised at first that they didn’t know some fings about the seasons already, but when she fought about it some more she realised that here on our coast we don’t really have seasons like that – not like the other coast where me & Mumma came from. We knows allllll about how it gets fery fery cold & icy in Winter. It will be fery cold when we go to visit my Maree Mumma soon, so hu-Mum says I should get busy growing some more furs, especially if I want to play chasing games outside with my nefew Dude.
Usually here on our coast we just hafe raining and not raining. Only this year we hafe raining and raining, and then more raining. Once in a while we hafe a sunny day. So one sunny day my Mumma decided that she needed to take some autumn pictures of handsome me.
She said we had to find a de-ci-du-ous tree. Apparently that is a kind of tree that makes its leafes turn all kinds of colours and then fall off. Mostly in New Zealand all the tree leafes stay green alllll year. Mumma has been trying to teach those little hu-mans some big words like that de-ci-du-ous word. So she wanted to get a picture of that kind of tree.
Now I knows we hafe some of those because hu-Mum & hu-Dad cleaned up all the leafes the other weekend when they cut down my peeing grass. But all the leafes hafe falled off our one already because it is not really autumn anymore. Mumma says it’s supposed to be winter, but all the plants are all confused, because my strawberry is trying to grow some flowers & berries. So she fought we could still find a tree wif colourful leafes on it if we went looking if it is all the seasons at the same time now.
So we went for a walkies a different way than we usually go when we go to see Mr Goat. We went up a little hill and down a little track to get some pictures of handsome me beside the always green trees. I had some fery good fun there because I chased a weka bird. So here is handsome me by the green trees.
Then we went a different crazy way down by the creek near our big road. There is a perfeckly good footpath, but no, Mumma said we had to go a different way to find the colourful tree. So we went through some fery tall grass – as tall as me. It was fery fun. I nearly BOL when Mumma fell down a hole, and I knowed the best ways to go, and I found something yummy to eat. I don’t quite know what it was – but it tasted a little bit like kitty litter treats or hedgehog poos. Mumma said I was disgusting.
So anyway, we got to the colourful tree. And we found some pretty flowers too. So of course Mumma had to take lots of photos of photogenic me! Sometimes I fink she is a little bit crazy about taking pictures of me.

My hu-Mum was fery busy today with meetings and houseworks. She even cleaned my artwork off the French door glass. She said that she did not think that nose prints, slobber & mud would get me an exhibition in the New York Museum of Modern Art. Personally I fought that it might, because I took a long time getting them to look just right – and some of Neve’s nose prints were in there too, so we would both be famous.
Anyway, she had so many fings to do that we did not get to go walkies. Instead, I got to try out my new Frisbee in the dark tonight.
My hu-Dad frew it for me in the back yard, so I did not get to run fery far, not like at the beach. I could see where it went so I still had fun. Mumma tried to take some photos of me & my Frisbee in the dark. Here is one that turned out kinda fun. You can tell I am going fery fast!

My hu-Mum just telled me that our friend Coco went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday. I telled you all about Coco a while ago, and it turned out that she did have that fery bad disease. My Mumma is a little sad because Coco was a fery fery lovely doggie & she was fery fery special for her hu-mans. My hu-Mum was talking to Coco’s hu-mum on the telephone (they live far away from us) and she finks Coco’s hu-Mum & hu-Dad are fery upset. Even Coco’s hu-Dad who is a pretty tough guy. She was not a fery old doggie at all, not even as old as my Angel Neve. Coco’s spaniel sister Jerry is not happy either. Coco & Jerry’s mumma says that Jerry keeps walking around in circles like she is looking for somefing.
We hope that Neve is introducing Coco to Katie & all the DWB doggies who have gone to that Rainbow Bridge this year. I should ask my Mumma if this means we can eat more cheeseburgers, ’cause Coco is bound to be eating cheeseburgers at that big Rainbow Bridge pawty.
I would put some more pitures of Coco, but they are all on my hu-Mum’s laptop which is at the computer vet, so we hafe to make do wif my hu-Dad’s old computer today.

Today we have this fery strange shiny stuff coming through the French doors. My friend Velcro said that it is called S. U. N. She does not like it too much because she has lots & lots of in in that Cal-i-for-nia place where she lives. I fought it was fery nice stuff myself. My hu-mans fought that they could kind of remember it from lots of days ago.
I thought it would be nice to go outside and play a game in that nice warm sun stuff. So I tried giving them a big hint. But the hu-mans always have jobs to do, and before you knew it, the sun stuff started to go away.
But we still went out to the beach. The hu-mans had to check on some of their geocache things, and I had my new Frisbee to try out that Velcro & her momma sent me. It is a fery good Frisbee – hu-Dad can make it go fery far, so I have to run so fast to catch it. My hu-Mum tried frowing it too, but I have to say that she was fery fery bad at it. (Don’t tell her I said that though.) It is quite tricky to catch your Frisbee when it goes all sideways & upside down ways instead of straight. But I did try fery hard to catch it for her all the same. I didn’t want her to feel bad. The waves nearly got my Frisbee one time too, so I had to grab it fery quick. I have to say the water in that big pond does not taste fery nice at all. After that I told my hu-Dad to be sure to frow my Frisbee away from the big waves. But the waves kept sneaking up on me and they still got me some times.
Then we went for a little walk. I had to carry my Frisbee myself. I do not trust that hu-Mum. She wanted to carry it for me, but no, I said I would rather carry it myself. She might not look after it good. She already lost one of my Frisbees one other time. (She finks I lost it, but I’m pretty sure she did. )
Then I had to pose for my picture in the sand dunes. I am a fery photogenic doggie after all.

This is my friend Katie. She made her Journey to the Rainbow Bridge on Monday. Her hu-Mum is one of my Mumma’s fery goodest friends. I didn’t get to see her so much recently because she was getting old & grumpy and her Mumma was worried about her biting someone – maybe even me. I did see her when we went to her & Tylar & Buddy’s house to play.
Now Katie will be a happy & pain free doggy again, collecting all the beach rocks she wants for always.
Rest in Peace Katie

Humans are fery strange sometimes. MY humans spend ages yesterday cutting & pulling out a whole lot of plants – well, they called them grass & weeds.
This picture is the little shoots that hu-Dad found growing. Hu-Mum says we will hafe to wait until springtime to see what they turn into. She said that she must have seen them growing last spring, but with such a fery strange year as the humans have had lots of stuffs have fallen out of her brain & she’s forgotten what they were. I don’t fink any stuffings have fallen out of my hu-Mum’s brain. I’m sure I would have noticed.
Then the humans spend a whole lot of time today buying & planting a bunch of other plants – they call them flowers & shrubs. They all looked like green growing things to me, the same as the ones we used to have yesterday. Except Mumma says she’ll growl at me big time if I pee on these ones. Hmmmm — did I tell you that hu-Dad cut down my perfectly good peeing grass yesterday??
Still, if there’s work to be done, I had to supervise of course. I decided that today I needed to get up close & personal to make sure that hu-Mum really was doing somefing.
Mum says that our garden will never look as pretty as Miss Katie’s, and that it’s because her & hu-Dad don’t have ‘green-fingers.’ I know they don’t – ‘cause I had a good look, and their fingers looked a perfectly ordinary colour to me. But I’m not sure what that has got to do with making fings grow. As I said, hu-mans are fery strange.
Here is the fings that I helped the humans to plant. We hope that they will grow & look fery pretty. Then hu-Mum will make me sit beside then to have my photo taken….. sigh….
The fery good thing though is that the store where Mum & Dad got the plants also has pet fings. So Mumma got me a new toy. It is a fery fun toy & I like it alot. I already put lots of teefie marks in it.

Well, the humans said that they had to do ‘yard work’ today. They thought that the backyard was in a fery big mess. Me, I liked it the way it was. There was lots of fings to leave my pee-mails on, but no, the humans had to get rid of all my favourite clumps of grass & weeds.
Of course, once I knew the humans had hard work to do I had to supervise. Now everydog knows that supervising humans is fery fery difficult and tiring, so I had to lie in my bed all afternoon looking out through the French doors, making sure that the humans were working.
The hu-Dad discovered a plant pot with some little sprouts growing up in it. I guess if it grows pretty flowers in Springtime hu-Mum will make me sit beside them for my photo. Sigh ……
When I saw hu-Mum had this much mud on her, I fought she must have had lots of fun. But she said mud isn’t always fun. I could not understand that.
When they were all finished – I had to look out the door and check their work. The yard looks almost fery tidy – apart from the half of the lawn where hu-Dad’s lawn mower broke down.
Then after all that work, the humans still had some time to take me for walkies – just as well. Here is a picture that my hu-Mum took of handsome me:
